and helping people live out
Our churches are all about our people, from our Rector, Vestry and other leaders, to each and every member of our congregation. We have over 400 members of our congregation across both Parishes.
We have a shared love of God and a faith that gives us strength and focus for our daily life.
St Colmanell's Parish is based on Church Street in Ahoghill, sitting at the top of the hill, with a wonderful view of the village.
Portglenone Church is situated on the Townhill Road, near to the River Bann. This beautiful small church has been a Parish Church since 1840.
Our Rector is supported in his leadership of the church by the Select Vestry. Both churches have their own select vestry, made up of 16 elected members from the congregation.
Within each vestry, there are four Warden positions, two elected to represent the congregation and two selected by the Rector. One of each pair looks after the Church and the other the Parish.
The vestry is elected on an annual basis at an open meeting for all the congregation.
The leaders who run our church activities play an important role in the life of our church. From men's and women's groups to our Youth groups and Sunday School, these individuals give their time and energy to help inspire, guide and support everyone who takes part in our wide range of groups.
